Week 27 Almere Netherlands

All three of these are how we celebrate the six month mark

This week was great!  We had zone training on Wednesday and it was awesome!  My new zone leaders are elder Pimentel and elder King.  They are both super awesome and they did a good job at making us feel like crapy missionaries at the zone training! haha But they did really good at building us up too and getting us excited about the work!  As you might already know, this last week I hit my 6 month mark. We did something to celebrate and I will try to send some pictures later.  So I was on splits with elder Pimentel this week and it was insane!  So I feel like I’m pretty good about talking to mostly everyone I come in contact with, but elder Pimentel talks to everyone he sees!  LIKE EVERYONE!!  Whenever we would see anyone no matter how far away they were, we would chase them down!  I have never been so worn out doing missionary work in my life!  I also think it really freaked some people out.  Just seeing two kids in suits running toward you, and trying to get you to stop! haha It was a whole different way of doing missionary work.  We got a ton of appointments out of it though! So that was super cool!  Our investigator didn't come to church yesterday though.  So his baptismal date will have to be pushed back a week.  We called him like 50 times yesterday to see what was going on and stopped by his house three times. haha He eventually answered and said he really appreciated all of the attention. He was just super sick.  Too bad but he will hopefully come this week!  I love this area and I hope I don't leave here anytime soon!

Week 26 Almere Netherlands

Me and My comp elder Schmidt

Our Church building

Not a whole lot to tell about this week sorry, but it was a good week.  One of our investigators, who has a baptismal date, came to church yesterday!  It was so awesome and our ward mission leader sat with him in the investigators class and it was just amazing!  I was the youth speaker in sacrament meeting so I really hope that didn't scare him away.  Everything is going great here.  We have a ton of investigators and it seems like we are finding more and more every day!  I really hope we will be seeing a baptism this transfer! So one super cool thing about this apartment is that there is a guitar!! I only know two songs so I think my companion is getting tired of me playing those same two over and over but hey I've gotta take advantage of this opportunity!

ALMERE

Transfers were this last week and I am now in Almere.  I guess it is the newest place in the Netherlands.  They like built some dikes and drained the water to build this place so if the dams break I will be the first to know.  So we live right in the middle of the centrum.  It's super sweet.  We also live right above the McDonalds. haha I'm pretty excited about that.   My companion is elder Schmidt.  He is on his second transfer and his dutch is better than mine.  I'm not even kidding it is insanely good so I’m pretty sure they sent me here so he could train me.  He is very obedient and it will be good serving here with him.  The work here in Almere is so great.  We get so many potential investigators every day and we usually are busy the next day just looking the ones up from the day before.  That never happened in Ommoord.  We also had two lessons on Thursday this week and two lessons in one day is my record on the mission.  I have averaged about one a week for my first three transfers so I don't even know what to do with my self now.  It's great!  Church here is also awesome.  First two meeting were in English yesterday and then two Americans spoke in sacrament meeting.  And the church building has nothing attached to it.  It's just like an American church but way smaller.  I'm really excited to serve here and get to know all of the members.

Nieuwe Jaar!!

So first off,  I'M GETTING TRANSFERED!!  I'm going to Almere.  I've heard a lot of good things about that place so I'm pretty excited. I'm going to be finishing off training elder Schmidt.  So this last week was pretty crazy.  We were told to be indoors by 4:00 on New Years Eve because of the fireworks.  I was told that the fireworks are crazy here and they were insane!!!  I took some crazy videos but they are too big to send.  I really felt like I was in the middle of world war three!! Along with the sound of explosions were the sounds of sirens all night long.  I guess a ton of people lost hands and fingers. They boxed up every garbage can, mail box, and vending machine because I guess people try to blow them up. haha So I couldn't send letters for about a week.  We were on exchanges with the district leader on New Year ’s Day and we decided to do some contacting but no one was on the streets and no one would answer their doors.  Seriously I think the whole country was hung over from partying the night before.  So me and elder Stanley did some service and just cleaned up fireworks for most of the day.  A couple of kids shot some bottle rockets at us while we were doing it. haha but we actually had one cool conversation come from it.  So later that night we decided to go look up a less active member that lives super far away and when we got there no one answered.  We did a few bell ups while we were in the area and the second one we did was a cool guy from Africa and he let us in.  We then taught the first lesson and It was the most spiritual lesson that I have ever been in.  This guy is so cool!  I'm sad that we finally get someone who is interested and then I get transferred, but It's super cool that he wants to learn more about us.  Well I don't know my address yet but I will email it to yall next week.  Hope you all had a good new year.

Groetjes,
