Week 44 Groningen Netherlands

Sorry no group email this week.  We had a zone pday in zwolle and we had to travel super far so it was expensive and it took a lot of time.  We got back late, my comp had bike problems, and we have to go to an appointment soon so I don't have a lot of time this week.  I need a favor though.  So we are doing this my family pamphlet thing that they talked about in zone conference and I don't have the stuff to fill it out so if you could get me the following information I would be super happy and you would be the best mom in the world!!

-Dads date of birth, and your wedding date. Also a good picture of him so I don't have to cut one up

-Your year of birth as well and a picture too if you could just email those to me.

-A picture of Pok too

-Grannys birthday and place of birth also a picture

-Dads brothers and sister full names birthdays, birthplaces, dads sisters death day

-Your parents: pictures of each of them, summed up life stories if that's possible, birthdays, marriage date

-Your siblings full names, birthdays, temple work done? Kenny went through the temple right? is he still a member...??

-Poks parents: pictures, life stories, names of their children, birthdays, and if their temple work is done

Grannys parents: same info as poks parents and siblings also for Raymond hunter lunt do you have his death place? it wasn't on the family search website.

-Your great grandparents names, pictures, life stories, temple work done? birthdays and places, marriage dates, names of their children, their birthdays and birth places, death dates and places, and temple work done?

Sorry this is a lot of information but sister Robinson told us we need to have the books done in 2 weeks. haha so if you could just email me what you can that would be awesome!

Well hey I’m sorry I really don't have more time to email. I have to also use this time to prepare to teach in district meeting tomorrow and my time is short as it is! Tell Hailey good luck with the patriarch blessing or however you say it. I love you and am grateful for all that you do for me!

Love, Elder Hulet

PS I don't know if I told you but before I left Almere we went down and had breakfast in the McDonalds to celebrate and I had a McMuffin. You asked me a while ago to tell you how they tasted here and to be honest they are like 3 euro and they are smaller. So I was already disgusted before I even took a bite! But I couldn't taste a difference.

Week 43 Groningen Netherlands

Wednesday was transfers, and we spent almost the whole day traveling.  I am now with Elder Knudsen and elder Shelton.  We have a nice big apartment, and in three weeks we will be getting one of the office elders and we will be a four man.  So we have had a few good lessons this week since I’ve been here.  We taught an Arabian family who had to have their kids translate for them, but they have only spoke Dutch for 9 months. It was very interesting, but a good lesson.  Yesterday after church we got to go and visit a 97 year old member named Tex to bring him the sacrament! He was so cool!!! He kept telling us the same stories over and over and we have to yell at the top of our lungs to get him to hear us! haha he also wrestled me three times! haha I got a good video of it, so you can see that one next year. GUESS WHAT! Today is my 300th day on the mish!! Me and elder Knudsen are in the same group so we will celebrate today.

One super cool experience we had this week was in a lesson with one of the investigators.  He is waiting for his wife to come here to the Netherlands and then he will get baptized.  She is stuck in cape verde (shout out to Elder Jarv!) until she gets her papers to come here.  But anyway we were teaching him about the spirit and at the end of the lesson he told us how he was introduced to the church and all that stuff but then he just stops, and after like a minute of silence he got all emotional and bore his testimony to us.  It was a super cool experience, and I'm excited to get to know him more.

I'm loving it here in Groningen!

Week 42 Almere Netherlands - Going to Groningen Netherlands

Last dinner appointment with Zr Wolff in Almere

Johan and our golf Object lesson

Fried Chicken and potatoes that we made!

I found out last night that I am getting transferred to Groningen.  I will be in a threesome for about three weeks, and then an office elder will come up and we will turn into a 4man.  I'm super excited.  I will be companions with elder Knudson, and elder Shelton will be with us too.  Also another cool thing is that Almere will be getting 2 more elders.  So the apartment here will become a 4man apartment.  I'm sad to be leaving Almere but I've heard a lot of good things about Groningen.  One other thing just for dad is that the antlerless hunt application thing should be soon, and I was wondering if you could go on and get me a point for the antlerless deer and also cow elk if possible.  Thanks a lot! It was really nice to see you all yesterday.  The family we were with made us steak, baked potatoes, and ranch dressing so With that and skyping I felt like I really was back in America!

Week 41 Almere Netherlands

This last week was temple conference! It was super cool as usual but I noticed a big improvement in my Dutch. I actually understood everything that was going on unlike the last temple conference.  We then went to this place called keukenhof.  If you haven't heard of it, it is like the most famous tulip garden here. It's like Disneyland for these people.  I'm not a big flower fan but it was super cool!! We got to hang out there for the rest of the day.  It was super exciting! I will send pictures of the tulips mom so don't worry.

With the big Facebook project here, our mission has been receiving a lot of referrals lately.  We received one last week for this little town called Zeewolde, which we didn't even know was in our area.  We had to travel for about 45 minutes on a bus to get there and then they weren't even home!!! I hate when that happens. We then went back to the bus stop to catch a bus back to Almere.  The way the busses work in this country is you get off on the right side of the street and if you want to take the same bus back then you just go to the opposite side of the street, and it picks you up there.  So we did this and we got on the bus and about 20 minutes later we realized we weren't going the right direction!! haha we actually traveled into the next zone... We eventually made it to another bus station where we could find a bus back to Almere, but we were an hour and a half late to our appointment.  We felt super bad, but not going to lie it was actually quite a fun trip! Oh yeah and also we left our card behind when we were looking up the referral, and a lady called us while we were on the bus.  She told us that her husband doesn’t know what he is doing on computers and he just clicks on random things and she wants us to leave her alone. We get stuff like that all the time.  The church is starting to put ads on Facebook now, and I feel like only stupid people click on the ads on Facebook. So What can you expect!
