Hello everyone! This last week, was a good week! We had a zone training, and also a few days of service, so not a whole lot of door knocking done this week.  It snowed and rained all week as well, and the snow was great but the rain not so much.

We taught mike this week about prophets, and it went really well.  He Always asks a lot of questions, and the family that we teach with is Always good at adding things to what we teach.  Sister Brandenburg served a mission, and br brandenburg was a stake president, so they both know quite a bit about the gospel.  This is really how the lessons should Always be. It is so nice to have this much support from the members.

We had an exchange this week with the zone leaders.  I was with elder bean and I found out his dad was a professional golfer!! He played on the tour when he was in his 20s. He said that he was good enough to make it until Sunday but he never won, so his dad told him to get a real job! haha So elder Bean knows a lot about golf, so we talked about it the whole exchange! He is also going to play basketball for BYU when he gets back so he updated me a little on what’s going on in the NBA.  It has been a long time since I have talked to anyone about sports.  It seems like my whole mission, I have been serving with people who know nothing about sports our hunting.  So it was a nice break to be able to talk to someone about sports.

The work is going great here.  I love sharing the gospel with people every day.  No matter how hard it is, I love it out here, and I'm glad I am doing what I am doing. I love you all and hope you have a great week!

Week 79 Hengelo Netherlands

We found a new guy this week named Nour from Seria.  He speaks great English, and he was interested in the book of Mormon, so we set up a time to meet with him, and we taught him on Saturday night.  At the end of the appointment he was like, "by the way I liked your guyses Facebook page and I saw the video of you Elder Hulet." haha we hear stuff like that all the time. People see missionaries and say that they saw us on tv or on the internet so I was just like well that's cool! And he was like No really it was you! So he took us to the website and It was the video that the church made about a year ago back when I was in Almere.  It is the conversion story of a sister there, and they had me and elder Fowkes play the elders in it.  It was the first like I'm a Mormon video thing here.  The church made a new website just for Dutch, and they put this on it.  If you want to see the video it is also on the Facebook page.  It is called Mormonen Lage Landen.  Then it’s just under videos on that page.

Our Phone broke this week as well.  When elder Frisby stood up on the bus it fell out of his pocket and the screen broke.  So we called the office and we have to pay 60 euro to replace it. We were pretty upset about that until our new Phone arrived in the mail.  It is a Samsung Galaxy Y!! WE HAVE A SMART PHONE!!!  It is called the galaxy youth so I guess it's for like little kids but it's a whole lot better than the one we used to have.  It is super nice for missionary work!

We met with Mike a few times this week and we pushed the baptismal date back to February 21st.  He is still just progressing and loving it. I'm super excited for him. 

It also snowed this week, and we had a little snowball fight with the Enschede elders. It was awesome!!

Week 78 Hengelo Netherlands

Lunch for sister support day

This week is transfers, and me and elder Frisby will both be staying here in Hengelo together.

Most of the district will be staying except elder kettler will be coming to Enschede, so he will be in our ward! He is in my MTC group, and he was my companion on my 3rd transfer. So I'm pretty excited about that!

This week we taught more lessons than last week, and it was really just a great week!  We had 2 lessons with Mike, and we set a baptismal date for January 31st!! We are super excited! I hope he will be ready by then.  We also just got a few new investigators, and our eternal investigator Anja wants to set a baptismal date for May!! We are so excited for her.  This week was just really a good week for missionary work.  It has been snowing and raining all week. They said it's not normal to be raining this much in the Netherlands! haha so if it's a lot of rain for this country then you know it's a ton!! We have these nice little heaters in our apartment so we can dry our stuff every night so it will be ready for the next day. Haha I'm glad we have those.

Elder Frisby lost his ov chip card and also shoes last week.  So he has been having to pay for his travel with his own money, and its been rough.  It makes you realize how blessed we are to have the church pay for our travel.  Without it we would be broke!!

Week 77 Hengelo Netherlands

We spent a few days this week getting all of the referrals looked up that we had from the Facebook campaign.  A lot of cool things happened. We taught a few lessons, and that is a big deal in this part of the country!  Our district really is starting to pick things up, and it is so awesome! Everyone in the zone taught at least 1 lesson last week, and that is the first time in a long time!!

I had the opportunity to go on exchanges with the zone leaders this week and it was awesome! We had 4 appointments back to back, and 3 of them went through. I have never taught 3 lessons in one day before. I don't know how some of those other missions do it.  haha It was really nice, and I was telling a member about it on Sunday, and he was like you know why they are getting lessons? It's because the members are giving them people to teach, and it's true. That's where those people came from. So this member yesterday asked if he could have some more of our pass along cards because he said he is going to find someone for us to teach this week. It was super cool of him!

Yesterday after church the ward all went over to see the new church building that they just bought. It was my second time there, but this time the bishop lead us around and showed us all of the changes they were going to make on the building. They have a ton of extra space so they said they might have the elders move in to the upstairs part of it. It is actually perfect for a missionary apartment, but too bad I won't be here when they move into it. They are thinking it will be done in the summer sometime.

We taught mike again this week, and it went great. Most of the lesson was just answering questions, and then we finished up with the restoration.  It was a really powerful lesson. We are teaching him again tonight, and I'm excited for that.

Week 76 Hengelo Netherlands

This last week was a lot of fun.  We had to be in for new year’s eve at 4:00 because of all the fireworks.  A member brought us a bunch of food so we could have our own little feast at our house.  The fireworks were CRAZY!!! I will send some pictures but they don't do it justice.

Anyway... on Saturday we had a lesson with Meik.  He is the boyfriend of a member and we are teaching him.  He has no religious background, and we have already taught the first 2 lessons.  We decided to start over and take it slower for him because it is a lot of info for someone who doesn't even know anything about the bible.  The lesson went great! We had it at the Brandenburgs house and they had a lot of great input. Meik was also in church on Sunday. He is super cool. We are hoping to set a baptismal date next lesson.

Later that day me and elder Rasmusen headed up to Groningen for the baptism of Julio! I don't know if you guys remember but I taught him back when I was in Groningen, and he was waiting  to get baptized until his wife came back from Cape Verde (shout out to Elder Jarvis).  She is back now and we got permission from president to go because me and elder Rasmusen have both taught him.  A few of the members recognized me so that made me happy!! I was there like 8 months ago and only for one transfer, so it was so nice to be able to go back. 

Seeing a baptism from someone you know is the greatest experience on a mission.

Sorry this is a short email this week but I told my family I would send some pictures. Christmas was awesome! In the Netherlands they have a 1st Christmas and a 2nd Christmas so we had two times the fun! There are lots of miracles happening in our district here, and it is super exciting to see. I love you all and hope you have a happy new year!

Week 74 Hengelo Netherlands

Sorry there is no Mass email this week! But here are some pictures!

We got to go to Germany for a members birthday party and they took us to see a castle with the German elders.

　

We will be going to the Aldrinks for Christmas day. They are going to have two of us Skype at 4. Then we will eat dinner and watch a movie and then the other two will Skype after that. Elder Frisby is skyping someone in Hawaii so he has to do it as late as possible because of the crazy time difference.
